IT’S CHESTNUT

TIME AGAIN

nuts~!.png

So I’ll open with a chestnut that seemed ever so funny, once—

ME:  When is a door not a door?

Victim:  Glop?

ME:  Give up?

Victim:  If I have to?

ME: (triumphantly) When it’s ajar! Boom boom! Gotcha!

Moving on … think ‘variation on a theme’, but this time in all seriosity and with no traps in mind (and no puns intended, I promise you*).

MY BELOVED

door.png

onboard desktop dictionary now serves as point of entry to my theme for the day. Using it and our own experiences, what can we deduce about ‘door’, hmmm?

“Mr Argus, Sir?” (Oh goodie … it’s little Virginia again)

“Yes, Cutie?”

“Sir—are you alluding to the fact that doors can be opened?”

“Bingo, Kid! Brilliant as well as perstifero  gorgeous. Furthermore, yes~!”

“Awww, shucks, Sir …”

True, too. Doors serve the useful function of being openable as well as blocking passage.

If you can’t open a door, is it still a door?

Brrrrr. So?

So let me draw your attention to one of the unresolved mysteries of our time. Ever heard of Wepwawet?

Ol' Weppie.png

No, not many have. But quite a few are/were aware that one Rudolph Gantenbrink esq. drove a wee robotic device of his own devising up one of the mystery shafts in the GP of E at Giza.

They named the wee beastie Upuaut** and it performed beautifully, toddling up the shaft like a bought one until it reached an unexpected blocked up road-block. Not good. It snapped the now iconic image of the road-block, which was promptly named ‘Door’—

slabbed.png

—by almost everyone referring to it. Okay then — everyone. Picky

The above snap is one from Upuaut and appears on Gantenbrink’s own site, more accurately labelled as ‘stone slab’. I like that—doors can be opened, slabs are a bit unequivocal that way.

We are also told that those apparent artefacts on the slab are copper handles. I put this suggestion in my “Awwww … gimme a break!” box.

To my uneducated eye they look more like yer basic electrical contacts, which would be pushing the limits of fancy a bit far ‘cos the ancients never had no electricity***.

They (moderns) could always sail another (more recent) robot up to that putative door and slap a multimeter across those handles, check for any signs of electrical potentials and/or resistivity. Perhaps (this is the CT in me coming out now) ‘they’ have already done that, shivered, and shut the project down? Who knows****?

I UNDERSTAND

that ol’ Gantenbrink wanted to do a lot more with upgraded robots but got promptly banned from the site by everyone’s favourite ol’ buddy (Zahi Hawass); which the CT in me thinks was for obvious but unmentionable reasons. I guess we’ll never know.

It’s years since I’ve been this way, so I’ll have to do some updating; don’t wait up …

Turkish turkeys? Why not … it’s another case of hee hoo—

—hee hoo holds the gun commands the spoils; as in hee hoo holds the aces would be a real turkey not to play them—

This is where Turkey holds the key to the EU’s future…

Turkey is a major transit point for migrants headed to Europe. The Turkish government doesn’t want these migrants to stay in Turkey. So it has little reason to stop them from leaving for Europe.

This gives Turkey leverage with the EU. The Turks have essentially said, “Give us what we want or we’ll open the floodgates.”

What the Turks want is a lot of money.

Last year, Brussels partially gave in to the blackmail—to the tune of $6 billion. In return, the Turks agreed to stop migrants from illegally entering Europe.

here’s another snippet from my previous post’s reference.

Make of it what you will—

You’re going to see other countries leaving the EU. The next one might be Italy. All of the Italian banks are truly and totally bankrupt at this point. Who’s going to kiss that and make it better? Is the rest of the European Union going to contribute hundreds of billions of dollars to make the average Italian depositor well again? I don’t think so. There’s an excellent chance that Italy is going to get rid of the euro and leave the EU.

If Marine Le Pen wins the elections, France will leave as well. That would be a smart move. She would also want to deport the migrants from Africa that are living in tent camps and cardboard boxes everywhere. Another good move. These people aren’t self-supporting, and are acting to destroy what’s left of French culture. Then again, Le Pen herself is no prize. She wants to continue the welfare state, and increase regulations and taxes. The French have zero good alternatives, at least if you care about either free minds or free markets. But that’s true everywhere in Europe. The very concept of liberty is dead in Europe…

A smart move?

Ye gods … we can’t leave our unions!

Or our Big Governments~! We NEED our bureaucrats to tell us what to do … and when to do it, and where—hell, we’d be naffled without them!

and ricochetting screaming into the far far distance from the ears of the unthinking—

The European Union evolved, devolved actually, from basically a free trade pact among a few countries to a giant, dysfunctional, overreaching bureaucracy. Free trade is an excellent idea. However, you don’t need to legislate free trade; that’s almost a contradiction in terms. A free trade pact between different governments is unnecessary for free trade. An individual country interested in prosperity and freedom only needs to eliminate all import and export duties, and all import and export quotas. When a country has duties or quotas, it’s essentially putting itself under embargo, shooting its economy in the foot. Businesses should trade with whomever they want for their own advantage.

Or not.

YOU are a voter, no?

What do YOU think?

Go with flow?

Free Trade?

EEK~!

Far better to put everything under the control of the experts (that means politicians, Bub) (you know: professionals!) who know what they’re doing. Lenin did it and dragged his nation from monarchy into modern timesy. Stalin improved on it, and He won the Second World War (even if he did have to import a few bits and pieces)(‘needs must’ sometimes).

Don’t forget, it’s coming soon to a nation like you … actually, for many, it already has. Don’t you feel better being regulated, and knowing exactly who to please if you want anything?

“Mr Argus, Sir?”

“Yes, Little Virginia?”

“Sir … will you buy me an ice cream, please?”

“Sure kiddo … do you have form USBG 112-345-9535 filled out in triplicate, and is your ration-book up to date, and can you handle the six week wait?”

“Sir—”

“Yo?”

“Please don’t bother …”

AN EMAIL

tonight. Make of it what you will (or not). It is reproduced hereunder exactly, as requested. (I hold no candles for anyone mentioned herein, I was simply asked to forward it and am doing so verbatim.)

What really died at Auschwitz? Here’s an interesting viewpoint. The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodriguez and published in a Spanish newspaper. It doesn’t take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe – and possibly to the rest of the world.

I walked down the streets in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz . . . We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a group of people who represented culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who made great contributions to the world, and thus changed the world.

The contribution of today’s Jewish people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. Look at any donors’ board at any symphony, art museum, theater, art gallery, science centre, etc.  You will see many many Jewish surnames. These are the people who were burned.  Of the 6,000,000 who died, how many would have grown up to be gifted musicians, doctors, artists, philanthropists?

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the diseases of racism and bigotry, Europe opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offends’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now approximately seventy years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, twenty million Russians, ten million Christians, and nineteen-hundred Catholic priests who were ‘murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated. Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be ‘a myth,’ it is imperative to make sure the world “never forgets.”

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center ‘NEVER HAPPENED’ because it offends some Muslim in the United States? If our Judeo-Christian heritage is offensive to Muslims, they should pack up and move to Iran, Iraq or some other Muslim country.

Please do not just delete this message;  It will take only a minute to pass this along.

We must wake up America and the free world before it’s too late.

Apparently it is a widespread (means common) practise to dolly up the pure coconut juice with cow juice.

I didn’t know that, although The Spouse refuses to drink any ‘pure’ juice that comes from a can or bottle or packet—she has a few problems of her own and has had reactions from such. Original container or nothing.
