IS VERY MUCH
IN THE EYE
of the beholder. Or of the heavily indoctrinated/politically correct.
TIME MOVES ON
it seems. To not digress, my grand-nephew attended the RNZN’s celebrations of its very own 75th anniversary. He sent me a copy of the glossy magazine that went with the show. So?
SO GAZE WITH ENRAPTURED RAPT RAPTURES
upon this paragon of beauty—
—which I uplifted from a newsletter that came in this morning and keeps me up to date. This guy may well meet the NZ Govt’s definitions of ‘Maori’ but to my untutored eye he looks … looked … honkie. Good on him for doing what he thought was right, but—
—with the best will in the world I do not class him as ‘beautiful’; nor his facial enhancements (I wonder if the navy would allow folks of UK descent to cover themselves with woad?) (Don’t ask. Don’t even consider such a blatantly racist/non PC remark). Damned cynic …
Anyway—my GN’s glossy has told me—if nothing else—that the ‘navy’ of today is totally different to the navy I was in. Hell, they even load the guns from the other end these days (although the bang still comes out the same).
As for me …
… I’m quite beautiful enough already.
