Fair enough, but here and now I mourn the passings of education and literacy.
sources indicative of bygone education in New Zealand hit the eye—in Invercargill there’s a large branch of a nationwide retail chain called ‘The Warehouse’, and a local branch of an Op Shop (charity store where freebie donations are sold to fund Good Works) called The Hospice. Both are equally guilty of the infamous grocer’s apostrophe (aka The grocer’s plural Letter “S”)—
—it would appear* that any word can be pluralised simply by bunging in an apostrophe and the letter S. (By why so selective—why only appliance’s, why not return’s?)
LIVE AND LET LIVE
is all well and good but my goodwill extend’s only so far. The Warehouse e’specially is guilty of it, in drove’s; and it/they hav a much grater exposure to children and/or the young impressionable’s. Young mind’s learn from example two, U know, as well as in the skool’s.
